On Dec 26-27, 2015, Lu Yi, Zhang Shiqing, Chen Zhongnong and Chen Nan Hua , four delegates elected from the School of Foreign Language Studies, attended the first Wenzhou Medical University Party Congress.The delegates listened to the work report delivered by Secretary of WMU Party Committee Qiu Yi on“Jointly Striving for a Better Future of WMU through Reform and Innovation”. The report pointed out that this plenary session held at the critical moment was of great significance when our university was going through transformation and rapid development.
The Congress aims to hold high the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, deepen the study and implementation of the important thoughts of the 18th CPC National Congress ,of the 3rd,4th and 5th Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee and the important speeches delivered by President Xi. The meeting reviews and summarizes the work by the party committee of WMU in the past five years and sets clear objectives for WMU reforms and development in the next five years, and jointly strives for a research-oriented medical university as well as one of China's most prestigious universities through the joint efforts of all party committee members, faculty and students.
During the group discussions, our delegates made some pertinent comments and put forward some feasible suggestions on university’s culture construction, teaching administration, university orientation, guidance made for post-graduate candidates and enhancement of non-English major students in English communication.
Finally, on behalf of all communist party members and faculty as well as students in the School of Foreign Language Studies, our delegates voted for new leaders of Wenzhou Medical University and the new members of Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) in WMU.
After the congress, the delegates showed their determination to encourage all faculty and students in the School of Foreign Language Studies to accomplish the missions of this congress with creativity on their own initiative.
