On October 17th, the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Japanese major was held in Xuguang Hall of Wenzhou Medical University. The associate president of the University Wang Liangxing addressed the ceremony. The other attendees included Zhuang Xingzhong, director of the School’s CCP P Department; Nakamura Satoshi from the International Exchange Department of Fuji Tokoha University of Japan; deputy director of Wenzhou Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office; Zhou Huaizhong, associate director of Wenzhou Foreign Language Association. The alumni and faculty of the Japanese Department were also present. During the ceremony, three graduate representatives delivered speeches to express their gratitude for the school and the memories they had during the school years. The 9th Japanese Speech Contest Wenzhou Medical University and alumni talk were held afterwards.
The Japanese major which started with enrollment in 2005 has totally admitted 788 students and graduated 464 students with practical skills for society during the past ten years. The school has established friendly exchange and cooperation relationships with Japan’s Fuji Tokoha University and Hokuriku University, respectively since 2006 and 2009. By the end of 2014, 117 students and 9 teachers had been sent to Japan to study or work. By diligence and solid language skill, and excellent performance in different levels of contests, the Japanese major students have earned great honors at home and abroad.
